Lately I have scanned Craiglist a few times a week for sewing machines and I came across this black beauty. Its a Singer 15-91 in a bent wood case. It will take a bit of work cleaning it up, but it will be worth it. The Singers with the potted motors attached by gears are definitely superior in my opinion. They sing when I sew! The motors are very quiet and perfect for times when I need to sew and be quiet. The bed area looks pretty bad and has little hairline cracks in the varnish or paint. The decals are a little silvered but they are in otherwise good condition. The end plate and back circular plate are heavily tarnished, but should clean up nicely.

The feed dogs can be dropped on the 15-91…The screw is just under the baseplate at the front.
: )
I just got one of these finally last week. Fixed it all up and love it! It’s so quiet! And runs as smooth as silk. Totally great machine!
Since I wrote this post, I discovered the screw. Thank you for your comment. I love hearing from others who find my blog.
